EU Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026 · GDPR & ePrivacy aligned
This EU Cookie Policy explains how Bella Cuisine Kids Cooking Club (“we,” “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://bella-cuisine.com for visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. Legal framework (2026)
Under the ePrivacy Directive (Article 5(3)) as implemented in EEA states, and under the UK PECR alongside UK GDPR, storing or accessing information on a user’s device generally requires prior consent, except for technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you requested. Consent under GDPR must be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous, based on a clear affirmative action. Scrolling, continued browsing, or closing a banner without choosing is not valid consent. Rejecting non-essential cookies must be as easy as accepting them, with equal prominence on the first layer of the banner. Users must be able to withdraw consent as easily as they gave it.
For Google AdSense personalized ads in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google also requires publishers to use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF). Our on-site banner records your preference and blocks non-essential tags until you Accept. If we enable personalized ads for European traffic, we will deploy a certified CMP consistent with Google’s publisher requirements.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include localStorage (used for consent records), pixels, and tags. Cookies may be first-party (set by bella-cuisine.com) or third-party (set by partners such as Google).
3. Categories we use
Strictly necessary
These cookies or storage keys are required for basic Site operation and security, including remembering your cookie choice so we do not repeatedly ask in a deceptive way. They do not require consent under ePrivacy’s narrow necessity exemption, but we still disclose them here.
- bc_cookie_consent_v1 (localStorage) — stores Accept / Reject / Essential-only preference and timestamp. Retention: until you clear site data or change preference.
Analytics (non-essential)
If enabled after consent, analytics helps us understand which program pages (About, Events, Donate, Health & Wellness) are useful. Typical providers may include Google Analytics. These load only after you Accept.
Advertising (non-essential)
If Google AdSense or similar advertising is enabled after consent, advertising cookies may be used to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on prior browsing. Third-party vendors, including Google, may set these cookies. They load only after you Accept. You can also use Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info.
4. Your choices
On your first visit, our banner offers Accept, Reject, and Essential only with equal visual weight for Accept and Reject. Non-essential scripts do not load before your choice. You can reopen preferences anytime via “Cookie settings.” Withdrawal is as simple as opening settings and selecting Reject.
5. Children
Our nonprofit mission involves kids’ cooking education. Parents and guardians should supervise minors. We do not seek to use personalized advertising directed at children under 13.
6. Transfers and processors
When advertising or analytics partners process data, information may be transferred outside the EEA/UK, including to the United States. Partners may rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other transfer mechanisms described in their documentation.
7. Retention
Consent records remain until overwritten. Advertising and analytics cookie durations are set by each vendor (often from a session up to 13–24 months). Clear browser data to remove cookies earlier.
8. Your GDPR rights
You may have rights of access, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact bellacuisine1@yahoo.com for requests.
9. Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via settings. Blocking all cookies may affect Site features such as remembering your consent preference.
10. Updates
We may update this Policy as laws, guidance from European Data Protection Board materials, or our technologies change. The Last updated date will reflect revisions.

This Policy summarizes practical 2026 expectations: prior opt-in for non-essential cookies, equal Accept/Reject, no consent-by-scrolling, granular purpose transparency, easy withdrawal, and recognition that Google publisher products serving personalized ads in Europe require a certified TCF CMP in addition to clear disclosures on this Site.
Because Bella Cuisine is a small nonprofit website focused on cooking education rather than a large commercial publisher network, we keep the technology footprint intentionally limited. Essential storage is used for consent. Advertising and analytics—if activated—are optional layers that remain off until you choose Accept. That design matches the ePrivacy rule that non-necessary device storage must wait for affirmative consent, and it gives European visitors a clear path to Reject without losing access to program information, donation pages, or contact options.
If you arrive from an EU member state, the UK, or Switzerland and see our banner, please make an explicit choice. If you previously Accepted and wish to stop advertising cookies, open Cookie settings and select Reject. We will treat that as withdrawal of consent for non-essential categories going forward on that browser profile.
