Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Bella Cuisine Kids Cooking Club (“Bella Cuisine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates https://bella-cuisine.com (the “Site”). We are a Chicago-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to teaching children healthy cooking skills, kitchen safety, community gardening, and programs such as Cooking with Cops. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how advertising and analytics technologies may work on the Site, and the choices available to you. By using the Site, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
1. Who we are
Bella Cuisine Kids Cooking Club is a nonprofit organization based in Chicago, Illinois. Our mission is to encourage children to make healthy eating part of daily life and to help reduce childhood obesity through volunteer chef-led classes, school and community gardens, and family-friendly events. For privacy requests, contact us at bellacuisine1@yahoo.com or 708-466-9477.
2. Information we collect
We may collect information that you voluntarily provide and information collected automatically when you visit the Site.
Information you provide
- Contact details submitted through forms, email, or phone (such as name, email address, phone number, and message content).
- Donation-related information when you choose to give (processed by third-party payment processors such as PayPal; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers).
- Event registration or partnership inquiry details if you share them with us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser data (approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps).
- Cookie and similar technology identifiers described below.
3. Google AdSense and cookie-based advertising
We may use Google AdSense and related Google advertising products to display ads on the Site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this Site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors’ uses of cookies for personalized advertising.
Learn more about how Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps: How Google uses data and Google advertising technologies.
Important regarding children: Bella Cuisine’s mission focuses on kids’ cooking education. We do not knowingly use personalized advertising based on the knowledge that a visitor is under 13, and we do not design advertising experiences to target children under 13. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child under 13 inconsistently with applicable law, contact us so we can delete it. Parents and caregivers should supervise children’s use of the Site.
4. Third-party ad vendors
In addition to Google, other third-party ad networks or measurement vendors may place cookies, web beacons, pixels, or similar technologies when ads are served. Those vendors may collect information about your visits to this and other websites to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. We will update this Policy and our Cookie Policies if additional ad partners are added. Where required by law, non-essential advertising cookies will not load until you provide consent through our cookie banner (or until you change your preference).
5. Google Analytics (if applicable)
We may use Google Analytics or similar analytics tools to understand how visitors use the Site (for example, popular pages such as About Us, Events, or Donate). Analytics technologies may collect pseudonymous identifiers, pages viewed, and approximate geography. Where Analytics is enabled, it is treated as a non-essential technology and will load only after consent where required. You can learn more about Google Analytics data practices in Google’s documentation and use browser controls or Google’s opt-out tools where available.
6. Affiliate links to kitchen equipment, ingredients, or cooking tools
As of the Last updated date above, Bella Cuisine does not operate affiliate storefronts for kitchen equipment, ingredients, or cooking tools on the Site. If we later introduce affiliate relationships (for example, links to recommended kid-safe kitchen tools or class materials), we will disclose those relationships clearly on the relevant pages and update this Privacy Policy. Any affiliate partners would receive limited referral data such as that you clicked a link from our Site; they would process purchases under their own privacy policies.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies needed for security, consent preference storage, and basic Site functionality. With your permission (where required), we may also use analytics and advertising cookies. Details for European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Swiss visitors appear in our EU Cookie Policy. Details for United States visitors, including California residents, appear in our USA Cookie Policy. You can change cookie choices anytime via the “Cookie settings” control on the Site.
8. How we use information
- To respond to inquiries, partnership requests, and class or event questions.
- To process donations through payment partners.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site.
- To measure traffic and, if enabled, to display advertising that helps support our nonprofit mission.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and community.
9. Legal bases (EEA/UK where applicable)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: (a) consent for non-essential cookies and certain marketing technologies; (b) legitimate interests in operating a secure nonprofit website and responding to requests; (c) performance of a contract or steps prior to a contract when you donate or register for an event; and (d) legal obligation where we must retain records.
10. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising and analytics technologies may constitute “sharing” or a “sale” under California law when personal information is disclosed for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents can learn more and opt out at Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We share information with service providers who assist hosting, email, donations, or security, under appropriate agreements, and when required by law.
11. Data retention
We retain contact and inquiry records as long as needed to respond and maintain nonprofit records, then delete or de-identify when no longer necessary, unless a longer period is required by law. Cookie lifetimes vary by vendor; see our Cookie Policies.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing, and the right not to be retaliated against for exercising privacy rights. To submit a request, email bellacuisine1@yahoo.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a small nonprofit website. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
14. International visitors
If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
15. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after changes means you acknowledge the updated Policy.
